17 Steubenville Harold Star, Steubenville Harold Star, Apr. 15, 1903 to Aug. 27, 1903 (Steubenville, Ohio, 1903), Aug. 3, 1903 Edition. John B. Ridgley died at his home on Adams Street on Monday at 2:00 AM after a prolonged illness, aged 32 years. He had been in poor health for over a year and had been confined to the house since December 1. His aliment finally developed into Bright's disease [a Chronic inflammatory disease of the kidneys]. During his long illness his many friends manifested their sympathy by frequently inquiring as to his condition. He was born December 31, 1869. In January 1892 he was married to Miss Dora Perkins who survived with three children, Rees G., Wm. F. and Josephine. These brothers and sisters survived Mrs. John T. Ward of Fairmount W. Va., Mrs. John Blackburn of Cleveland, Mrs. Alva Moore of Steubenville. The deceased was a member of the M. P. Church and of the Elks Lodge. His life was an exemplary one and his death in early manhood will be regretted by scores of associates and friends of the family. He was assistant to his father in the Ridgley Drug Store for years and there he grew efficient.

John Barr Ridgley.
As the midnight shadows passed into the new born day, the spirit of John B. Ridgley took its flight, as the long-suffering body was watched over by the family and beloved friends, who had been ministering unto him through his prolonged illiness with tenderness and love. Mr. Ridgley was the eldest son of Col. W. F. and the late Elizabeth Barr Ridgley. He was born in this city December 31, 1869, and entered into rest August 3, 1903, at one o'clock a. m., in the thirty-fourth year of his age.
